Got a coat you no longer wear? Give it another life this winter.
That coat sitting at the back of your wardrobe could make a real difference to someone this winter.
The Rotary Club of Roundhay is collecting good-quality ADULT WINTER coats and passing them directly to organisations supporting people across Leeds who are experiencing homelessness, hardship or crisis.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Drop off a coat (adult, clean pre-loved WINTER clothes only please)
Tesco – Roundhay Road, Leeds: Public collection point (All through their opening hours)
Oakwood Church – Roundhay, Leeds: Public collection point (Please check their calendar)
www.oakwoodchurch.info/calendar/
Please donate clean, good-quality winter coats that are still fit to wear.
New or pre-loved — if you’d be happy to give it to someone else, we’d be happy to receive it.
A LOCAL CAMPAIGN, WITH LOCAL PEOPLE
Roundhay Rotary is bringing together people and organisations from across our community. We’re working with five local Women’s Institute groups who are arranging their own private collections:
Bramhope • Moortown • Bardsey • Roundhay • Chapel Allerton
WI members are collecting coats at their regular meetings, with Rotary volunteers bringing the donations together.
We’re also working with:
Leeds Magistrates’ Court – staff collection
Park Square Barristers’ Chambers – staff collection
It really is a community effort.
WHERE WILL YOUR COAT GO?
Your coats won’t simply disappear into a clothing bank. The coats collected by Roundhay Rotary will be passed directly to organisations supporting people in crisis across Leeds, including:
St George’s Crypt
Simon on the Streets
Homeless Street Angels
St Vincent de Paul
These organisations are already working with people who need practical support — including people experiencing homelessness and people rebuilding their lives after prison.
Your old coat could become someone’s essential winter coat.
COULD YOU HELP US COLLECT MORE?
You don’t have to stop at your own coat. Tell a friend. Empty another wardrobe. Start a collection at work. Schools, businesses, clubs and community groups can all get involved.
If you organise your own collection, we can arrange to get the coats from you at a mutually convenient location
