On Monday 26 June, Rotarian Raghu Das handed over the Presidency of the club to Rotarian Jacqui Ridsdale. During the handover ceremony, several members of the club were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the club and rotary. Rotarian Jill Fisher was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship for outstanding work in supporting local care homes and communities in Bangladesh through physiotherapy education. Past President Richard Wharton and previous recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award, was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Ruby Pin, which is equivalent to seven PHFs being awarded.
At the end of each Rotary year at the final meeting, our Club President awards one member with the Philip Pengelly Award. This award is given at the sole discretion of the outgoing President to recognise the Club Member that he or she feels was the biggest help to them during their year as President. This year, club treasurer Shirley Wetherill, received the award.
