Burns Night

Burns Night Monday 25th January 2016

This year there will be a 4 course meal of typical Burns Night Fayre including  Scotch Broth, Haggis with Tatties & Neeps  and Cranachan. The cost will be £25 per head and there will be tastings of three whiskies included and a piper to pipe in the Haggis.

With the Haggis: Amrut Fusion Single Malt from India amrutwhisky.co.uk

In the 2010 annual Whisky Bible, acclaimed whisky writer Jim Murray awarded Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky the title of Third Finest Whisky in the World. Murray said Fusion was ‘one of the great whiskies found anywhere in the world’.

Using Portuguese ruby, tawny and vintage Port wine casks as the main flavour, Kavalan Concertmaster single malt whisky is the first matured in specially selected American oak cask and then finished in port barriques. Tha marrying in the barriques mellows the flavours and adds indefinable smoothness to the whisky. It is rich bodied with natural sweetness and complexity.

Nikka from the Barrel is big-boned and bursting with character. Not averse to a drop of water, either. A real star, winning top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards in 2007 and 2010, beating Johnnie Walker Black Label and Chivas Regal 12yo. In March 2015 it was again awarded 'Best International Blend' at the World Whisky Awards in London. At the same ceremony, The Nikka Whisky Company was awarded 'Distiller of the Year' beating a number of high profile Scotch distillers.

This special evening is limited to 60 places so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment.
