A message from our Club President Jacqui
Rotary means something different to each of us at the Rotary Club of Roundhay (RCR) and this year, I’ve adopted a great philosophy which was shared by one of our District Governors – Do Rotary Your Way! We each joined this amazing, worldwide organisation for our own reasons – mine was the hands-on volunteering opportunities – and ‘doing Rotary our way’ helps us remain a happy and contented bunch! (I was over the moon to get my own walkie talkie at the Roundhay Park 150th anniversary celebration!).
Although volunteering was the main motivator for me to join RCR there are so many other aspects to being a member that I enjoy: the friendships and social events; the fundraising that makes such a difference to our local and wider communities; the opportunities to network with Rotarians around the world.
Rotary has many strands which is why we draw people from diverse backgrounds into our clubs. I’m looking forward to my year as President working with a group comprising of both new and experienced members, every one of whom contributes to make our Club the success that it is and upholding our overall objective – to make a difference in the world.
