On 7th October 2017 the Rotary Club of Roundhay will be holding their 3rd Bollywood Evening at Sand Moor Golf Club, Alwoodley Lane, Leeds, LS17 7DJ. The evening of Bollywood dance Indian cuisine and music led by Chiragi Solanki begins at 7.30pm. Tickets priced at £25 per head can be obtained from Raj Menon via email.
One thousand pounds was raised from the inaugural event in 2013; the proceeds given to a small Bristol charity FRANK Water who work to improve access to safe water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH) in India & Nepal. Profits from the second Bollywood Evening totalling £750 were divided between Sylvia Wright Trust & John Jamieson School. SWT runs a Hospital and a school for disabled children in Tamil Nadu in South India The money for SWT was part of a Rotary grant organised by Rotary Club of Headingley. The Rotary Club of Roundhay have been giving ongoing financial and hands-on support to John Jamieson School a specialist inclusive learning centre on Hollin Hill Dr, Leeds LS8 2PW.
This year we are raising money for another worthy cause the Guildford Eye Project. They tackle avoidable blindness restoring sight to millions by providing free eye care and eye surgery to the very poor in the developing world.
