Welcome from Scott Wolstenholme
Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Roundhay. I hope as you browse around it will give you a good impression of what we are about.
I joined the club eight years ago and am proud and privileged to be President this year. We are a friendly group of men and women from diverse backgrounds who meet weekly on a Monday evening to have a good meal together, listen to interesting speakers and plan to pool our talents to do good both in the local community and through the world wide network of Rotary clubs internationally.
We are an active club that raises funds for local and international causes, but also gets involved in local hands-on projects, sponsors young people to make the most of their talents and opportunities, and has a lot of fun in the process. Currently our most successful fundraiser is an annual Beer Festival at North Leeds Cricket Club held in early April, which has developed into a great community event, with excellent local live bands and, of course, interesting beers. In common with all Rotary Clubs, our ethos is to serve humanity, and we find that in seeking to do so, we gain much satisfaction ourselves and make friends and have fun.
We’re always on the look out for new members, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who may be interested in joining us. Please come along to one of our Monday evening meetings at Sand Moor Golf Club and see for yourselves.
Just contact our Secretary Derek Davidson [Tel: 0113 266 6203] if you’d like to come along.
Rotary International President John F. Germ chose Rotary Serving Humanity as his theme for 2016-17.
